COE Development Manager

The COE Development Manager will lead the Application Development Center of Excellence through the application of technical disciplines as well as intimate domain knowledge. He/She will understand and manage the IT landscape of processes, tools, expectations and objectives, to ensure success, while generating business value.

Employee Development and Engagement: Lead a high performance, engaged and motivated workforce which meets rapid time to market and delivers competitive, high performing solutions within efficient cost structures.

Operational Excellence: Develop aggressive, achievable, high value IT plan of record (POR) plans, aligned with IT and business objectives and through strong process and program management, then drive successful execution to plan. Ensure all IT solutions are effective and efficient, consistently meeting all up time and response and performance commitments. Work collaboratively across the IT organization and drive for architectural and asset leverage.

Initially, the Application Development Center of Excellence will comprise of Oracle & SQL Server Application DBA’s and application developers. They are responsible for delivering end-to-end database solutions and applications for the company.The COE Development Manager must be able to architect the vision and drive the team to realization of the vision and ensure architecture alignment across infrastructure, applications and end users.

This COE Development Manager will be part of the core Senior Managers whose responsibility includes:

Also, the incumbent's duties will include but is not limited to the following day-to-day operations:
  • Full accountability for project execution against Plan of Record (POR) commitments
  • IT Innovation project and administration processes
  • People Development/Management of the team that he/she manages
Requirements:
  • Typically requires a technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 15 years of related experience or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 13 years of experience.
  • This position is considered an expert in their field
  • Beyond common programming languages, Specific experience in Oracle and/or SQL Server database administration and strong familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle Methodologies would be an advantage
  • At least 5 years of Sr management experience is required and 8+ years of total management experience
Other requirements are:
  • Demonstrated experience in driving business results through effective use of technology solutions
  • Experienced working in a customer facing domain and customer support area (in particular) is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly develop and manage strong delivery oriented business partnerships across the world. Ability to persuade and influence senior management
  • Previous experience leading cross-organizational teams to address complex and global problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-organizational projects across multiple boundaries
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategic projects to closure despite organizational obstacles, imperfect data and information, and tight timelines
  • Demonstrated experience managing large budgets
  • Strong experience in successfully leading large teams through transformational change, with demonstrated application of management of change concepts, principles and leadership
  • Proven results in people development and management and in building high- performance, strong, empowered, inclusive, diverse cross functional teams
  • The individual should have managed large teams of 50 + employees across multiple technology domains / platforms and industry clusters
